“BLOW ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand.”  We are the sound of the trumpet and the voice of one crying out in Nevada’s Carson Valley, “Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”

“Hear ye the word of the LORD.  There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

We preach the everlasting gospel on Highway 395 and in the Carson Valley. Our desire in this place is to see much fruit born among the towns of Gardnerville and Minden, as well as Douglas county’s other towns and neighborhoods in Nevada’s Carson Valley and unto the ends of the Earth.

The Maulis family is dedicated to public ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ through street preaching, evangelism, raising banners, signs, and witnessing in public and at events, especially around our home in the Carson Valley of Nevada.

We Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ

We preach to obey the Lord Jesus Christ.  We believe that because he died for us, we ought to live for him.  Because he rose from the dead, it is no longer we who live, but Christ that lives in us.

“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16:15–16

“What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.” Matthew 10:27

“And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.  To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” Acts 10:42

We preach the gospel because we love the Lord Jesus.  We love him because he first loved us.

“I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.  I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.  I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.” Psalm 40:8–10

The salvation of man is the end of our gospel, by the determination of the Father to see that the Son receives the reward due him for having accomplished all that is necessary.

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all [things] he might have the preeminence.
For it pleased [the Father] that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say], whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven.”
Colossians 1:16–20

Therefore we do not preach to the end of man’s happiness; no, not in this life, neither in that which is to come, but rather we preach the one who is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end for there was none before him, there shall be none after him, besides him there is no other.  The Lord’s salvation is not that wicked men can be eternally preserved in spite of their transgressions, but it is that men can be begotten again and made new creatures that know Jesus Christ and who glorify God by his power that works in them.

Jesus Christ is eternal life and the gift that God has given unto all that believe, made possible by the suffering of the Lord Jesus Christ to whom is due all honor and glory and power.  The soul whose life does not glorify God is an offense to God in treading under foot the Son of God, and counting the blood of the covenant, wherewith sanctification was made, an unholy thing, and in doing despite unto the Spirit of grace.  They shall be counted worthy of a punishment sorer than death.  Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.

We preach publicly, at recognized public forums, and on the street.

We preach publicly and privately.  We preach outside and inside.  The example given to us by Jesus himself, and all the prophets from the bible show us that we ought to preach publicly and house to house.  Jesus specifically commands his followers not to hide their testimony and not to be ashamed of him and of his words.  We are not ashamed.

We are the sound of the trumpet and the voice of one crying out in Nevada’s Carson Valley, “Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” We preach the everlasting gospel on Highway 395 and in the Carson Valley because God loves us, we love him, and obey him. He commanded us to preach in his name. He deserves that our lives glorify him, and we glorify him by bearing much fruit. The fruit we bear is love, and there is no greater love than we lay down our life. Unless we follow Christ and lay down, we cannot bear fruit. Our desire in this place is to see much fruit born among the towns of Gardnerville and Minden, as well as Douglas county’s other towns and neighborhoods in Nevada’s Carson Valley. Whether we are in Gardnerville, or Minden, the Gardnerville Ranchos, Genoa, or the Johnson Lane neighborhood, we declare the great joy in being reconciled to God and in having peace with God through Jesus Christ. But there is no peace to the wicked and all nations that forget God shall be turned into hell. Nevada’s Carson Valley is no exception. But if we hearken unto his word, the Lord is able to make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

What and how we preach

When street preaching or preaching publicly, we preach the gospel in God’s words.  The most common public situations in which we preach have many people who will only listen to or hear our words for a minute or less.  We are compelled by our purpose to get to the point right away.

Essentially we preach that man is in sin, that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, that he was crucified for our sins, that he rose from the dead, and that God saves by grace those who believe on Jesus.

We preach that God will judge the world in righteousness by Jesus Christ. We testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. We preach repentance and remission of sins in the name of Jesus.

We preach God’s law to those for whom it was made: sinners.  By God’s law, every mouth is stopped and all become guilty before God.  We preach the law to convict the conscious with the knowledge of sin, and because it is a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.

We confront and reprove sin and sinners with God’s word and law. We do not argue, contend or strive with the unrepentent who do not want to do God’s will. Rather we reprove, rebuke, and exhort.

We preach to those of poor and contrite spirits who tremble at God’s word.

“Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.” Isaiah 66:1–2

We give witness that through the name of Jesus whosoever believes in him shall receive remission of sin, which is transgression of the law. There is none righteous, but God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. But God raised him from the dead. By him all that believe are justified from all things, for God is the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

We usually communicate the gospel from God’s very words because he said that if the prophets would have stood in his counsel and caused his people to hear his words, then they would have turned them from their wicked ways and the evil of their doing. If the situation is appropriate we will also preach the gospel using our personal testimony of salvation, because we do not follow cunningly devised fables in making known the power and coming of the Lord Jesus Christ by the eyewitness of his majesty that works in us by his resurrection from the dead.

Whether street preaching, raising a banner, holding a sign, or blowing the trumpet, our ministry is orderly and ordered by the scriptures.

Specifically, our conduct is ordered by the following from God’s word:

“Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words…” Proverbs 1:20–21

“Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.” Proverbs 8:1–4“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression…” Isaiah 58:1

“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand.” Joel 2:1

“Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Habakkuk 2:2

“Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.” Isaiah 13:2

“What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.” Matthew 10:27

In the Carson Valley, in and around Gardnerville and Minden, Nevada, the trumpet is sounding and the gospel is being published.
